Introduction To Pink Floyd:
It has to because of my dad playing the 'Pulse' video tape over and over again and the 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' video tape as he was working on getting the right sounds and effects.

I loved watching the lighting shows, lasers and also the stage set up and all the different vocal and sound effects that were happening. They blew me away and that is one of the main things that got me into doing pro audio sound engineering and effects lighting and laser engineering.

Background:
Darren took up sound and light engineering back in 2002 for his father's band “Alibi”. Jim played lead guitar for the band and after their first engineer decided to pursue a different career, Darren stepped forward.

As a teenager, it took Darren a while to feel the passion for Pink Floyd's music, but having studied 'P.U.L.S.E' and other live dvds, coupled with his father's tour work, he soon grew to love the material.

Starting with just a small Peavey mixing desk and a couple of speakers, he now owns and runs with his father, a hire company called D&J’s Lighting & PA Hire and they now have enough Lighting and sound equipment to fill three large Transit vans!

Darren has the ability to scale the production to the venue and hopes to increase the level of production over the coming year.

Running the front of house for “Time to Breathe” is a challenge and he bases all the lighting and laser shows on the live Pink Floyd, Earls Court concerts to get as close to the real thing as he can with just a fraction of equipment Floyd would have used themselves!

As for sound, Darren says "That’s a different ball game altogether, working with the Floyd Tribute is a real pleasure as ‘Time to Breathe’ are more professional to work with than many bands, which makes my job a lot simpler and more exciting!" "Apart from running the front of house for the Floyd tribute, I also do sound and lighting for many other bands in various locations in and around Northants. Most of the younger bands tend to be into Rock or the Nu Metal scene so it's nice to be able to work in detail with the 'Time To Breathe' sound.
